Polyglyceryl esters and waxy lipid esters generally show low irritation and low sensitization rates in patch testing, but lipid-derived blends can still trigger occasional reactivity in highly compromised eczema skin due to barrier disruption and individual allergy profiles. Given the very low inherent irritancy yet non-zero risk in severely reactive populations, it fits best as 'very gentle' rather than inert.
